RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS
Since then PGLOA under the chairs of John Valentine (2013-14) and Steve O’Brien (2014-16) have mainly addressed landscaping, and the never-ending issue of the SAR. Recent significant achievements include:
Changes to TPS 21 Item 11.1 to prohibit transportable buildings – ongoing.
Replacement of colorbond fence in marina-facing villas with open grill fencing
Advocated enforced clean up of mess at interminable construction site in Keel Retreat
Plans to replace Casuarina trees in Layman Road – ongoing
Initiated regular coffee sessions with three councilors.
New footpath between Sensations Café and western foreshore toilet block and beach.
Residents replanting garden beds on park abutting end of Anchor View
Installation of concrete footpath over footbridge at end of Port Lane
Restored street lighting Spinnaker Boulevard and Layman Road
DPAW eradication of castor oil trees and other invasive plants on eastern side of Layman Road abutting wetland and public reserve.
Alerted authorities to damage of rip-rap on canal walls related to non-conventional jetty poles.
Stimulated the cleaning of under-water circulation pipes in stinger-free pool.
Submitted to City planning permission to build a gazebo and BBQ on park at Anchor View.
Advocated name change from Geographe to Port Geographe for the SAR area (ongoing)
Input into foreshore landscaping associated with Groyne reconfiguration project.
Input to Port Geographe Community Consultancy Forum (now defunct) re groyne reconfiguration

Reports to the City on maintenance issues.
